Know what's funny?
Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican.
It should come as a surprise to no one that Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican. The party, started by Lincoln, supported civil rights and freedom from oppressive governments. (Hence the name "Government Opposition Party" or GOP)

The Democrats fought to keep blacks in slavery, passed the discriminatory Black Codes, Jim Crow laws, started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks, and fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law of the 60's.

Then, in the face of all this, Obama has the gall to say:
“I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator.”
(TIME MAGAZINE June 26, 2005)

Notice how unsympathetic Democrat John F. Kennedy is during his speech on the assasination of Dr. King. He is lauded as a proponent of civil rights, yet Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil rights Act while he was a senator and after he became president, John F. Kennedy opposed the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King. President Kennedy, through his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King.

between the words and the facts of Obama there is always the Ocean..i don't trust in him simply casue he's black..he'll surely do better thanBush but..i don't really think that the C.I.A. could keep a real afroamerican or a new Luther King in the White HOuse..isn't enough to have a black face to be black in USA, i guess..:)

The sad truth is that race is more closely tied to cultural attachments than genes. It is actually really difficult to pick out any one set of genes that makes someone one race or another. It all comes down to preset cultural definitions.

It's these definitions that people will either play off of, or defy in spite of culture. Obama has already played "The Black Card."

I don't trust him simply because his actions (and lack thereof) speak louder than words. It wouldn't take much to do better than Bush

The man is unfit for his position, and worse still, at one of the most critical times in the country's lifetime.
